Monica Chu Ah Huwa
My name is Monica Chua I paint and teach the art of painting. I was born in Singapore. I’m Singaporean. I have lived in Rogersville, TN, about 12 years. In winter time, I will live in Singapore. I have liked to paint since I was a child, and I like to learn many different kinds of Art. I graduated in Fabric Design and Fine Arts in Singapore. After that I was admitted to the prestigious Central Institute of Fine Arts in Beijing, China. There I attended a one year Chinese Ink Portrait Painting and Research class.
My Art mediums are Chinese Brush, Watercolor, Oil, Pastel and Acrylic. My subjects are Portraits, Landscape, flowers and Chinese Calligraphy.
I have had 8 solo exhibitions, and joined group exhibitions many times in Singapore and some other countries. I’m a member of the Society of Chinese Artists, The Singapore Art Society, Nanyang Academy of Fine Art Alumni Association and some Community Art Club in Singapore. I’m a Local Art Gallery member in Rogersville, TN too. I’m teaching Chinese Brush and Calligraphy in the Local Art Gallery and working in my own studio in Rogersville.
