The Magic Soap Pot started over a decade ago, when we still lived in Brooklyn. The search for alternative skin care led me to an experiment right in my kitchen. Soon after the first batch of soap cured, I was hooked and have enjoyed creating new recipes, blending new fragrances and watching the process over and over ever since. It was a hobby that has grown over the years, become a business with several different names. Eight years ago, moved to beautiful East Tennessee and the business is now The Magic Soap Pot because many other handmade items have since come out of it. However, the pot is happiest when it gets to do what it does best, make soap. We are a family of six. Everyone in the family is involved in the business to some extent, mostly as testers and market researchers. My three daughters come up with lots of ideas. They tell me what things need to look and smell like, and they help me with names all the time. Although I spend much time creating new products and being out there at local festivals and craft shows, this is not the only thing I do. I love the outdoors and spend my winters as a ski and snowboard instructor in Obergatlinburg at the Smoky Mountain Snowsport School, and my summers as a river guide on the Big Pigeon River with Smoky Mountain Outdoors and Appalachian Outdoors. So if you are planning on a vacation and would like to try something different and adventurous, please come visit and ask for me as your instructor or guide. The Magic Soap Pot www.magicsoappot.com
